Apria Healthcare Group Inc.: The Costa Mesa home health care company, continuing to rebound, said it earned $18.9 million or 35 cents a share, in the third quarter, compared with a loss of $194.7 million, or $3.76 a share, for the same period last year. The loss included a reorganization charge of $160 million.
It was Apria’s fourth consecutive profitable quarter after more than a year of losses.
Revenue rose 8.2% to $237.4 million.
In a sign of how the company has improved its operations, Standard & Poor’s in August upgraded its outlook on Apria to stable from negative. The rating service noted, among other things, that the company had been shedding money-losing operations.
