Re “ Buchanan Is the Twin Who Sees Backward,” Column Right, Aug. 29: What has punditry come to when comments by Pat Buchanan aren’t challenged, because he’s “so liked” by his fellow pundits? Charles Krauthammer and company may think Buchanan is amusing, but his demand that Ivy League schools now, according to Krauthammer, 50% Jewish and Asian, “look more like America” by reserving 75% of their slots for “non-Jewish whites” is a statement so foul and un-American that I’m surprised even Buchanan at his lowest would utter it.
This is the man who, though so concerned about the fate of America, like so many of the other candidates running for president, made sure that his precious rear end was never in any danger of being shot at. As far as I know, only John McCain and Al Gore had the guts to put their country first.
Krauthammer got it wrong. Buchanan doesn’t belong in the Republican, Democratic or Reform parties. However, I’m sure the American Nazi Party would welcome him.
