* CalMat Co. agreed to settle lawsuits with shareholders who claimed they weren’t getting enough money for their stock in the January acquisition of the Los Angeles-based company by Vulcan Materials Co. In November, Vulcan offered $890 million, or $31 a share, for the maker of crushed stone. To settle the suit, the companies agreed to provide more information about the transaction and to pay up to $550,000 in legal fees.

* Office furniture maker Hon Industries Inc. warned that its fiscal third-quarter earnings will be below analyst estimates because of problems in recruiting new workers to meet a 6% increase in orders.
