Optimism rings loud at Santiago heading into the season and a preseason No. 10 ranking in Orange County by The Times has fueled the fire. Though the Cavaliers have made the playoffs just twice in the last 12 seasons, they feature a balanced offense with quarterback Brian Pilkington and running back Brandon Perry leading the way.
