The City Council will take the last administrative detail to officially annex the Midbury neighborhood on Tuesday. The council will adopt the ordinance necessary to absorb the neighborhood into the city.
The ordinance was approved at its first reading of the City Council last month.
Midbury is an 18-acre neighborhood in northwest Brea, which was formally outside the Orange County line. The residents receive all their services from Brea and can get to and from their homes only by passing through Brea.
In 1998, Midbury homeowners said they were interested in becoming a part of Brea, concerned that Los Angeles County was unable to provide emergency services.
