The Rotary Club and Police Department will team up Wednesday to scare teens away from drunk driving with “Every 15 Minutes,” a program designed to demonstrate that getting behind the wheel while intoxicated can have deadly results.
A group of students will be chosen to portray the Grim Reaper and accident victims in skits held throughout the day to demonstrate the statistic that a teenager dies in an alcohol-related car wreck in the United States every quarter of an hour.
Police will stage a mock accident at Brea Olinda High School. Students picked as “the dead” will stay at a local hotel to reinforce the idea they are no longer part of the world as they know it.
