SEASON AT A GLANCE: Williams, who didn’t compete for Taft last year, has run 10.71 in the 100 meters and a hand-timed 21.6 in the 220-yard dash in addition to running legs on teams that have clocked 42.27 in the 400 relay and 3:21.48 in the 1,600 relay.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Williams had a hand in four victories in a 68-59 victory over rival Birmingham in a West Valley League meet on Friday and clocked a career-best 10.71 in the 100 to finish fifth in the Flo Jo Memorial Arcadia Invitational at Citrus College on Saturday. He ran a 47.9 anchor leg in the mile relay against Birmingham to give Taft a come-from-behind victory in the final event.

SPORT: Track and field
SEASON AT A GLANCE: Siraki, who finished fourth in the national cross-country championships in December, has lowered her school records to 4:52.4 in the 1,600 meters and 10:18.61 in the 3,200.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Siraki ran away from a superb field to win the 3,200 in the Flo Jo Memorial Arcadia Invitational at Citrus College on Saturday. Her time of 10:18.61 was the fastest in the nation this year, a career best by more than 12 seconds and moved her to fifth on the all-time region list. “I wasn’t even trying to win,” she said. “I was just trying to get a [career record].”
