Diverse Cast to Perform Free ‘Merchant of Venice’

A free production of Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice” will be performed by a multiracial youth cast, presented by the National Conference for Community and Justice and Shakespeare Festival/L.A., on Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the Los Angeles Theatre Center, 514 S. Spring St.
The production is the culmination of a theater arts program for “high-risk” youths, ages 14 to 21, fostering respect for ethnic and racial diversity. Information: (213) 250-8787.
