AZUSA — The Los Angeles district attorney’s office has decided not to file vandalism charges against City Manager Rick Cole for painting over a sexually suggestive billboard he said was offensive.
Prosecutors made the decision after a office hearing Friday with Cole. “He showed remorse for his actions and compensated those involved,” said Sandi Gibbons, a district attorney’s spokeswoman. The billboard that towered over Azusa Avenue said: ‘On Sunday April 9th, Six Beautiful Women Will Show You Their Panties.” It was part of a teaser outdoor advertising campaign announcing the debut of the Los Angeles Avengers, a new Arena Football team.
