Downward Economy

I think it is interesting (sad) to note that when we (this country) are in a “downward economic trend,” we seem to be a nicer bunch. But give us a robust economy and we turn into rude, belligerent hyper-acquisitionists, whose main philosophy is “more and bigger and to hell with you.”
I’m not wishing for a “crash”; that’s not good for anyone. I just wish we could learn our lessons without causing our own catastrophes first.
