Update: There’s No Record for Cornerstone Christian
- Share via
Attention, Cornerstone Christian High softball team.
There will be no record-breaking victory today. Just another Condor League game against Cate of Santa Barbara.
Contrary to popular belief, Cornerstone Christian did not tie a Southern Section record with its 74th consecutive league victory on Saturday.
Boron broke Alemany’s record of 74, set from 1976-83, last season and extended its streak to 85 on Tuesday with a Desert Mountain League victory over Mammoth.
“They’ve got a ways to go [to catch us],” Boron Coach Mick Van Horn said.
Incidentally, Cornerstone Christian defeated Boron, 4-0, in the Division VI championship game last year, snapping the Bobcats’ 24-game winning streak.
