Sierra Hauser-Price entered three individual events for the first time this season and won them all, leading Notre Dame High to an 86-41 victory over Harvard-Westlake on Tuesday at Notre Dame, and the Knights closed in on the Mission League girls’ track and field championship.
The Wolverines (8-1, 3-1 in league meets) defeated the Knights the last two seasons to win the Mission League title.
Notre Dame concludes Mission League competition on Thursday against Louisville.
Hauser-Price was timed in 12.0 in the 100 meters, 25.6 in the 200 and 1:01.4 in the 400.
She also ran the second leg on the Knights’ victorious 400 relay team.
“She was a little upset at first when I put her in three [individual] events, but she got over it,” Coach Joe McNab of Notre Dame said of Hauser-Price, a state finalist in the 100 and 200 meters the last two years.
“I was a little paranoid because Harvard-Westlake is a very good team.”
Tracy Johnson also won three events for Notre Dame (4-0, 4-0), clocking 15.2 in the 110 high hurdles and 51.5 in the 300 low hurdles, while taking the high jump at five feet.
