Some local Boy Scouts plan to spend Saturday at the beach, but they don’t plan to get in the water.
The boys from Troop 702 are teaming up with the San Clemente chapter of the Surfrider Foundation and volunteers from nearby communities to help clean up Doheny State Beach.
About 20 Scouts will participate in the cleanup, from 10 a.m. to noon, said Joe Kellett, a troop parent.
The event will also feature an egg hunt for children who participate in the cleanup.
Volunteers will meet at the visitor center. Parking is free.
Doheny State Beach is at 25300 Dana Point Harbor Drive, Dana Point.
