IMF Protest
There’s something wrong when 75 blocks of the capital city of the country are closed down to citizens making a political statement (April 18). Happily, though, that fact itself made the protest a success. The demonstrators didn’t shut down the meetings but they did succeed in showing up those organizations for what they are: secretive bodies that meet hermetically sealed off by police from any public observation (let alone public participation).
