Vietnam War veteran Gregory Allen Ganz hopes to rally support for raising the remaining $200,000 needed to construct a Vietnam War memorial in Westminster at a memorial committee meeting at the community center tonight at 7:30.
Ganz will read his essay, “America’s Sons,” and plans to unveil a memorial plaque dedicated to a high school friend that was removed from Rancho Alamitos High School’s gym nearly 20 years ago.
The $500,000 Vietnam War memorial will include a 10-foot-high statue on a 5-foot-high base depicting an American soldier and South Vietnamese soldier standing together. The center is at 8200 Westminster Blvd.
