Beechwood Elementary School teacher Becky D’Arrigo was named Teacher of the Year by school district officials Tuesday and will go on to represent the city on the county level.
Chosen from 17 teachers from the Fullerton School District’s 19 schools, D’Arrigo, a sixth-grade teacher and student council advisor with 24 years teaching experience, was one of seven finalists vying for the title.
Beechwood Elementary Principal Sue Faassen described D’Arrigo as in the top 1% of instructors she’s worked with in her 38 years in education, and highlighted the teacher’s dedication and professionalism on the job.
