LA HABRA

Student singers from across Orange County will congregate at Imperial Middle School on Saturday during the third annual La Habra Middle School Chorus Invitational.
Seventh- and eighth-graders from Huntington Beach, Garden Grove, the Southern California Children’s Choruses, as well as local Washington and Imperial middle schools, will participate in the event.
“It’s more of a learning and educational experience, not a competition,” said Betsy Olson, event organizer and choir teacher. “Mostly, the kids get a chance to see other children doing the same thing they are, and appreciate each other’s musicianship.”
Lori Loftus, founding director of the Southern California Children’s Choruses, will also offer a clinic for the young singers to improve their skills. The clinic will run from 9 a.m. to noon in the multipurpose room at Imperial Middle School, 1450 S. Schoolwood Drive. Information: (562) 690-2344.
