There’s no denying the importance of a Mission League game tonight between Notre Dame (19-5, 8-2) and host Harvard-Westlake (18-4, 9-0).
“It’s the game of the millennium,” said Cody Pearson of Notre Dame.
Well, maybe not that big, but Harvard-Westlake can clinch the league title with a victory. Notre Dame is having its best season since 1994.
The game matches perhaps the league’s two leading candidates for player of the year--Pearson and Russell Lakey of Harvard-Westlake.
In an earlier meeting, Lakey scored 30 points in the Wolverines’ 73-64 victory. Notre Dame was down by two points with 1:15 to play.
