1997 Turnbull Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
- Share via
Here’s a great entry-level Cabernet, made in a gentler, less muscular style than usual. The nose carries a hint of mint along with the scent of ripe red berries. There’s nothing shy about the fruit on this one: It has the all the lush intensity of a Syrah.
It’s not a wine for aging. Drink it now with just about everything from steak au poivre to a burger or a roast bird.
About $20. Widely available. If you can’t find this wine, ask your retailer to call Turnbull Wine Cellars, (800) 887-6285.
