** 1/2 Gerald Levert, “G,” Elektra. Levert scores cool points for trying some new musical moves on this album, but he doesn’t stray too far from his usual course. To distinguish himself from other love men on the scene--Maxwell and D’Angelo among them--Levert goes the hard-working, steadfast brother route. It’s not groundbreaking, but Levert’s earnest delivery is always inviting.
