Titans Defeat San Diego State

Cal State Fullerton scored seven runs in the sixth inning to break a tie and went on to beat visiting San Diego State, 11-7, Tuesday night. Pinch-hitter Matt Belfanti’s groundout drove in the go-ahead run.
Titan starter Ronnie Corona allowed only one run in four innings, but the victory went to George Carralejo (2-1), who gave up two unearned runs in the fifth. Cal State Fullerton (28-15) committed a season-high four errors.
Mike Martinez gave the Titans their first lead at 2-1 with a two-run triple in the second. Josh Weller hit a home run in the fourth to make the score 3-1.
San Diego State (26-25) got four runs in the eighth, highlighted by Edgar Gonzalez’s RBI double and Taber Lee’s two-run single.
In another nonconference baseball game:
Chapman 18, Redlands 2--Host Chapman (25-9-1) scored in every inning but one and had 22 hits.
In nonconference softball:
Cal State Hayward 7-0, Chapman 2-8--Theresa Cronin went two for two with three RBIs to lead host Chapman in the second game of a doubleheader.
