More than 100 students at Woodbridge High School are signed up to give the gift of life Tuesday at a campus blood drive sponsored by the American Red Cross.

The school hosts two blood drives a year, and usually has teachers and parents lend their arms to the cause as well, officials said Thursday.

“We feel it’s the least we can do,” said Kevin Tonai, activities director. “We have over 100 donors signed up, so we’re hoping to get at least 75 usable units of blood.”

Only students 17 and older may give blood, and the school is requiring parental permission slips for minors, Tonai said. The drive is being coordinated by senior Kelly Jackson, the school’s youth community director.
