Valencia 31, Quartz Hill 7--Freshman Kreig Peters rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns in 18 carries for the Vikings (4-1) at Quartz Hill.
Peters, playing in his second varsity game, scored Valencia’s first touchdown on a 14-yard run early in the second quarter and added a three-yard scoring run midway through the third quarter that gave the Vikings a 24-0 lead.
Kyle Bauer completed 12 of 18 passes for 205 yards for Valencia. Will Broadous caught four passes for 62 yards and Derek New had three receptions for 72 yards.
Mychael Williams led the Rebels (1-4) with 86 yards in 21 carries, and scored Quartz Hill’s only touchdown on a 33-yard run with 2:51 remaining.
Quartz Hill was held to 175 yards and six first downs.
