HIGH SCHOOL NOTEBOOK

Hart (12-0, 5-0) has opened a two-game lead in the Foothill League, though Valencia (8-4, 3-2) can gain ground today at Hart.

The Vikings have won three of four since losing to Hart, 8-2, on March 20, and defeated Canyon, 10-4, on Friday.

Valencia trailed Hart two weeks ago, 3-2, but surrendered five runs in the sixth inning and never recovered.

Junior outfielder Ryan Pipho, who was hitting a team-high .484 for Canyon, has been declared academically ineligible for the Cowboys (5-5-1, 2-3).
