A sheriff’s deputy pleaded guilty to false imprisonment of a developmentally disabled woman.
Bill Gene Cox, 61, a Sonoma County court bailiff and retired California Highway Patrol officer, pleaded guilty Monday as a preliminary hearing was set to begin.
Cox was charged with twice engaging in sexual conduct with the young woman, who prosecutors say has the mental ability of a 7- or 8-year-old child and is unable to consent to sex.
