Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (6-2, 1-0) at UC Riverside (1-7, 0-1), 7, KPRO (1570)--The Highlanders ran into a hot UC Santa Barbara team Thursday in its first Big West game. Sophomore center Vili Morton is averaging 12.4 points, 8.3 rebounds and is among the nation’s leaders with 25 blocks. Former Mater Dei point guard Rickey Porter has worked his way into the Highlanders’ rotation as a freshman. Cal Poly, which has a victory over Oregon State and is off to its best start in NCAA Division I, escaped with a 61-60 victory Thursday over Fullerton.

UC Santa Barbara (6-2, 1-0) at Cal State Fullerton (3-6, 0-1), 7--A blown three-point call helped tag the Titans with a loss Thursday, but a mistake-prone offense didn’t help. Fullerton can’t afford another 20-turnover, one-for-15 three-point shooting performance against the defense-minded Gauchos. Santa Barbara, off to its best start in nine years, leads the nation in field-goal percentage defense (34.5%).
