Final top 10 for the 2001 boys’ cross-country season:
1. Canyon Country Canyon
(SS--Foothill)
The second-ranked team in the nation romped to victories in the Division I races at the Southern Section and state championships.
2. Rubidoux (SS--Sunkist)
Falcons were 19th in final national poll after dominating fields in Division II races at Southern Section and state championships.
3. Long Beach Poly (SS--Moore)
Jackrabbits were unable to live up to top ranking in preseason national poll, but placed second in Southern Section Division I finals and fourth in state meet.
4. Barstow (SS--Desert Sky)
Aztecs were runaway winners in the Division III races at the Southern Section and state championships.
5. Dana Hills (SS--South Coast)
Junior-dominated team placed third in Division I races at Southern Section and state championships.
6. Royal (SS--Marmonte)
Highlanders won their first Ventura County title before finishing fourth in Southern Section Division I finals and second in state meet.
7. El Toro (SS--South Coast)
Chargers lacked consistency, but won their first Orange County title and placed fifth in Southern Section Division I finals.
8. Canyon Springs (SS--Ivy)
Cougars vault into top 10 after finishing sixth--a point behind El Toro--in Southern Section Division I finals.
9. Anaheim Katella (SS--Empire)
Knights finished second in Orange County championships and Southern Section Division II finals before placing third in state meet.
10. Loyola (SS--Mission)
Cubs make first appearance in top 10 after finishing seventh in Southern Section Division I finals.
