In another quarterfinal:
No. 3 Capistrano Valley 8, No. 7 Irvine 0--Amber Stachowski scored six goals and goalie Meridith McColl had 11 saves for the Cougars (18-4-1), who advanced to play Bell Gardens (22-0). Bell Gardens defeated Agoura, 7-5.
In a consolation game:
No. 6 Marina 6, No. 9 Los Alamitos 3--Kendra Shanley had a goal and five steals for Marina (14-8-1). Susie Lewis scored twice for Los Alamitos.
In the Freeway League:
Sunny Hills 6, Sonora 3--Alech Amr and Roxanna McEwen scored two goals each for host Sunny Hills (18-6, 8-0). Emily Simernsen had 15 saves for the Lancers, who remain in first place.
In Academy League girls’ basketball:
St. Margaret’s 55, Fairmont Prep 51--Monique Kettler scored 38 points for St. Margaret’s.
In the Century League:
Foothill 71, Orange 33--Kristen Mann scored 20 points and Jenna Horton and Emily Beaubelle added 10 each for the visiting Knights (14-10, 5-3). Michelle Dahilig scored 15 points for Orange (3-17, 0-8).
Villa Park 65, Canyon 62--Lauren Yadon had 30 points, 21 rebounds and five blocked shots and Kelly Shimizu had 21 points for the Spartans (16-9, 7-1). Stephanie Anderson scored 18 points and Lena Waltz added 12 for host Canyon (6-18, 1-7).
In the Freeway League:
No. 4 Troy 72, Buena Park 6--Alicia Komaki had 21 points, seven assists and seven steals and Meghan McGuire added 14 points and 10 rebounds as the Warriors (20-4, 8-0) clinched their ninth straight league championship.
Buena Park is 0-22, 0-8.
La Habra 37, Sunny Hills 29--Mira Carberry had 14 points and five rebounds and Valerie Martinez scored 13 points for the host Highlanders (16-8, 5-3). Sunny Hills is 10-13, 4-4.
In the Garden Grove League:
Santiago 59, Rancho Alamitos 24--Jessica Brito led Santiago (16-9, 7-4) with 16 points, including four three-pointers. Barbara Sualua added 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Evelyn Gomez had 10 points, 13 assists and eight steals.
In Garden Grove League girls soccer:
Bolsa Grande 2, Los Amigos 0--Junior Amy Dabalack had two goals for Bolsa Grande.
