Police on Wednesday identified a 10-year-old skater who was crushed to death under the wheels of a big rig as Buena Park resident Boston Rivers.
Boston was skating on a sidewalk along Valley View Avenue about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, accompanied by his 13-year-old brother and another 13-year-old, when he was apparently unable to stop at Trinidad Way, authorities said. He slid under the rear wheels of a 50-foot big rig that was turning onto Trinidad Way and died instantly, Buena Park Police Sgt. Chris Nunez said.
Boston’s family could not be reached for comment Wednesday. A neighbor who identified herself as Mrs. Fields said her son knew him.
“He was a really good kid. He was a wonderful child,” Fields said.
The driver of the truck does not appear to be at fault in the accident, authorities said.
