A check-cashing store a few blocks from the local police station was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money Tuesday morning, police said.
Two men, one armed with a handgun, held up Check Into Cash in the 3900 block of Cochran Street about 10:30 a.m., said Simi Valley Police Sgt. Bob Gardner. A clerk was the only person inside the business at the time, he said.
The men demanded money from the clerk and then jumped over the counter and grabbed all the cash they could find, authorities said. The clerk was not injured.
Officers searched the neighborhood surrounding the store but were unable to locate any suspects. The getaway car was described as a blue or teal four-door sedan. Officers declined to release descriptions of the suspects.
The store is about a half-mile south of the Simi Valley police station.
