In another men’s volleyball match:

Pepperdine def. UC San Diego, 28-30, 30-18, 30-21, 30-22--Matt Showley had 14 kills and the Waves overcame a slow start in an MPSF match at San Diego.

Fred Winters added 12 kills for Pepperdine (5-1, 2-1).

Donald Chen had 16 kills for San Diego (0-3, 0-3), which won a game for the first time in match play this season.

GIRLS’ WATER POLO

Notre Dame 7, Alemany 6--Kristen Kaplan’s fourth goal with 3:30 remaining in the fourth quarter clinched a Mission League victory at Valley College.

Sammy Zuckerman scored three times for Notre Dame (9-4, 3-1).

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Canyon 3, Burroughs 0--Jaime Rendich had two goals and an assist, and Christine Chapman added a goal and an assist for the Cowboys (16-1-5, 4-11-2) in a Foothill League game at Canyon.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Burbank 1, Hart 0--Daniel Cuello took a pass from Leonardo Valenzuela, dribbled through two defenders and scored from 10 yards 18 minutes into the second half of a Foothill League game at Burbank.

Salvador Corona had 12 saves for the Bulldogs (10-4-1, 3-2-0).
