McEnroe and Cash Will Clash for Title

John McEnroe and Pat Cash won their matches Saturday in the Success Magazine Champions tournament at Newport Beach Tennis Club to advance to today’s singles final.
McEnroe defeated Mats Wilander, 6-4, 6-0, and Cash defeated Henri Leconte, 6-1, 6-3, as both finalists finished the round-robin portion of the tournament undefeated.
McEnroe has won 31 Champions Tour titles and Cash has won three.
Cash has won two titles this season, defeating McEnroe in both finals.
Cash teamed with Scott Davis to defeat Yannick Noah and John Lloyd, 6-3, 6-4, to advance to play Guillermo Vilas and Leif Shiras in today’s doubles final.
The singles final is at 1 p.m., with the doubles final to follow.
