Clinton-Appointed U.S. Attorney Resigns

Gregory Vega, U.S. attorney for San Diego and Imperial counties, announced his resignation Monday, effective May 31. Vega, an appointee of President Clinton, had held the post since 1999.
Vega, who joined the Department of Justice in 1983, was the first Latino to hold the top job in the San Diego office.
