Ventura County’s largest private developer of low-income housing has been named Developer of the Year by a regional housing trade association.
Saticoy-based Cabrillo Economic Development Corp. received the honor earlier this month from the Southern California Assn. of Non Profits Housing, which represents public and private firms whose mission is to build affordable housing.
Since its founding in 1981, Cabrillo has developed 773 units of low- and moderate-income housing in communities across Ventura County.
The nonprofit is developing 400 units in Ojai, Moorpark, Oxnard and Simi Valley.
