Members of the Army National Guard will stop patrolling Monterey Peninsula Airport at the end of May, although airport officials would like them to stay longer.

National Guard soldiers, some from the Central Coast, began patrolling the grounds and helping with security checks after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
