Apartment Inspection Budget Was Exceeded

The Los Angeles Housing Department overspent by $250,000 the budget for its apartment inspection program last year, said Controller Laura Chick, who called Tuesday for reforms.
She proposed better internal controls to identify potential deficits earlier, and improved communications with city budget planners.
