Police Find Possible Evidence in Slaying

Police cordoned off an apartment complex Friday in the southwest area of the city after discovering possible evidence linked to the body of a decapitated man found in a trash bin the previous night.
Detectives would not say what they found at the complex in the 4000 block of Palmwood Drive.
The body was discovered about a block away, but the head has not been found. The man’s name was not released pending notification of his family.
“We’re protecting the area as a possible crime scene,” Det. Jeff Nolte said, adding that police are not close to making an arrest.
