HMO Plan an Insult to Doctors, Patients

The HMOs have heaped the ultimate insult on the public who pays their premiums and the doctors who work for them (they never had a chance to work with them) [“Health Plans to Pay Bonuses for Quality,” Jan. 16].
Does anyone think that we doctors have two levels of care? We go all out every time for every patient. The HMOs have simply admitted they can no longer line their pockets with the premium dollars the public has paid and the doctors have earned.
