DURANGO, Colo. — DURANGO, Colo. -- A firefighter working on a huge wildfire died Tuesday, but the cause of death was not immediately available.
The firefighter, whose name was not released, was about 30 miles east of Durango when he died, a fire information officer said.
He had no pulse when a helicopter medical team arrived, she said. An investigation was underway.
The man was working on the most active side of the 3-week-old fire, which has destroyed 56 houses in three weeks.
