NEW YORK — A West Point sergeant, two former police officers and a retired firefighter were among 10 people charged with using the Internet to obtain and distribute child pornography, U.S. prosecutors said Tuesday.
The charges were contained in indictments brought by prosecutors in Manhattan and Brooklyn as part of a nationwide crackdown on child pornography.
Authorities said the latest roundup brings the number of arrests to more than 100.
Prosecutors said most of the photos and video clips on the Web site used by the suspects featured children younger than 12.
