* Michael Madzo: New Work and Shozo: Tiny Life and Its Blessing (Couturier Gallery, 166 N. La Brea Ave., L.A., [323] 933-5557). Works by Madzo going on display Friday include “The Pleasure of Watching Time,” above, a paper, acrylic and thread collage painting. The exhibition will include painted mixed-media works on rice paper by Shozo. Ends Aug. 17.
