Two tourists who disappeared on a Memorial Day trip to the beach were shot to death, and their bodies were dismembered, placed in plastic bags and dumped in a Delaware trash bin, police say one suspect has told them.
Erika and Benjamin Sifrit, both 24, were ordered held without bail on suspicion of murder in the killings of Martha Crutchley, 51, and Joshua Ford, 32, of Virginia.
Police say Erika Sifrit said her husband shot the couple on the beach in Ocean City. Later, she said the tourists were shot inside a condominium bathroom, hiding from her husband, according to court documents. She also told police her husband dismembered the bodies and they dumped the remains in Rehoboth Beach, Del., the documents say.
