Accounting Changes at Computer Associates

Computer Associates International Inc. said it revised some accounting practices last year at the request of federal regulators and planned more changes by the end of this month. The world’s fifth-largest software maker reported Feb. 22 a preliminary investigation into the company by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Computer Associates said it made accounting changes in response to routine checks by the SEC’s finance unit. Shares rose 96 cents to $19.61 on the NYSE.
