Croat President Paints Milosevic as Warmonger

Croatia’s president, testifying at Slobodan Milosevic’s genocide trial, said the former Yugoslav leader was a warmonger responsible for Yugoslavia’s demise.
Milosevic “could have desisted from the option of war, but he never took any action to stop it,” Stipe Mesic said.
Legal experts said Mesic’s testimony gave the clearest look yet at how Milosevic, while leader of Serbia, the main Yugoslav republic, took control of the nation’s army, budget and presidency and turned them into tools for promoting a “greater Serbia.”
