After more than a year at the bargaining table, the Fairfield-Suisun United Teachers Assn. and the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District have approved a three-year contract.
On Monday, union members overwhelmingly approved a contract that will grant them a 2% raise and a $200 increase to their health benefits over the next two years, said Liz Priest, district president.
The agreement, which runs through 2005, will increase contributions to health plans from about $400 to $600. Although teachers tried to bargain for a 2% cost of living adjustment for the 2002-03 year, they were not granted one.
