Adams Is Difference for Arizona

Hassan Adams scored 30 points to lead No. 9 Arizona to a 91-83 victory over No. 6 Texas on Tuesday night in the Jimmy V Classic at New York.
Andre Iguodala had a triple-double with 13 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in a victory that kept Arizona (3-1) unbeaten in nine games at Madison Square Garden under Coach Lute Olson.
The Longhorns are 4-1.
Providence 70, No. 14 Illinois 51 -- Ryan Gomes had 24 points and 12 rebounds, and Donnie McGrath scored all 15 of his points in the second half as the Friars (4-1) won the opening game of the Jimmy V Classic.
The Friars overcame a slow start and a 30-24 halftime deficit, using a 2-3 zone to shut down the Illini (4-2).
No. 12 St. Joseph’s 67, Boston College 57 -- Delonte West scored 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Jameer Nelson added 13 points to lead the Hawks (6-0) to a victory at Philadelphia.
Jermaine Watson had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles (6-1).
Northern Iowa 77, No. 24 Iowa -- Erik Crawford scored 24 points at Cedar Falls, Iowa, lifting the Panthers (3-3) past the Hawkeyes (6-1).
It was the second straight time Northern Iowa upset a nationally ranked Iowa team in Cedar Falls. Iowa was ranked 11th when it lost, 78-76, there in 2001.
No. 25 Dayton 66, Louisiana Lafayette 59 -- Ramod Marshall made two three-point baskets in the final two minutes, leading the Flyers (7-0) over the Cajuns (1-2) at Dayton, Ohio.
Winthrop 80, Georgia 60 -- At Athens, Ga., Tyrone Walker scored 20 points as the Eagles (5-2) defeated the Bulldogs (4-2), giving the South Carolina school its first victory against a Southeastern Conference team. Winthrop had lost 10 games against SEC opponents.
California 80, Wyoming 55 -- Freshman Marquise Kately scored 18 points to lead the Golden Bears (3-3) to their third straight home victory. Mory Correa had 22 points and seven rebounds for Wyoming (3-3).
Arizona State 70, Temple 66 -- Ike Diogu and Steve Moore led a 15-6 run over the final four minutes as the Sun Devils (3-1) defeated the Owls (1-4) at America West Arena in Phoenix.

St. John’s senior guard Willie Shaw, suspended Nov. 26 after being arrested for possession of marijuana, was dismissed from the team before a 58-52 victory over St. Francis (N.Y.) at New York.
