Some DirecTV Claims Against NDS Rejected

News Corp.’s NDS Group won the dismissal of part of DirecTV’s lawsuit that claims the maker of access cards misappropriated trade secrets from the nation’s largest satellite TV service. DirecTV is owned by Hughes Electronics Corp.
U.S. District Judge Audrey Collins in Los Angeles dismissed DirecTV’s claims of fraud, breach of warranty and violations of the Federal Communication Act, NDS said. Portions of DirecTV’s other claims, including breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty, were allowed to stand.
