Pinochet’s Generals Admit Exhumations

Members of former Chilean leader Augusto Pinochet’s junta and other retired generals acknowledged that the bodies of some victims of the 1973-90 dictatorship had been dug up and moved to prevent discovery.
Eight members of Pinochet’s inner circle condemned the exhumations, saying those responsible should be tried. Human rights groups believe that the army removed the corpses to hide evidence of mass killings.
