Grand Jury Censures Yolo County Sheriff

A grand jury has harshly criticized the Yolo County sheriff, saying he used public funds to buy flowers for his wife and subsidize political events.
In its annual report, released this week, grand jurors charged Sheriff Ed Prieto with misusing $20,000 of discretionary funds over the last three years.
Prieto defended the expenditures as “community building” measures intended to increase his department’s profile.
