Animal Rights Group Sues KFC and Parent

An animal rights group filed a lawsuit against fast-food chain KFC, accusing the company of making misleading statements on its Web site regarding how the chickens it sells are treated.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals filed suit in Los Angeles Superior Court against KFC and its parent, Yum Brands Inc., seeking an injunction to stop what it said were deceptive statements on KFC’s Web site.
A KFC spokesperson said the company stood by its information as truthful and accurate.
Shares of Louisville, Ky.-based Yum rose 45 cents at $30.45 on the NYSE.
